Hi friends! Just after logging in to my dashboard today, I saw a message “WordPress 2.9 Released. Update Now”. I was very happy to see that at last WordPress 2.9 stable version is out. Actually it wasn’t new to me as I have been using WordPress 2.9 Beta version from quite a long time and had already explored all of its features.
So to all of you, who haven’t switched to WordPress 2.9 till now, please do so.
Here are some of the features of WordPress 2.9,
1.) Image Editor.
2.) Post Thumbnail Feature.
3.) Content (Post, Page, Comment, Media Library Items) Trash Status.
4.) Many Other Small Required Updates Are Made Which Can Be Seen At http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_2.9
All the full list and brief description about WordPress 2.9 features can be found at the following Blogging Junction Post, My First Look At WordPress 2.9.
See it and know it! And update for sure to be sure that your blog is safe!

I hate one thing in this update, I need to spend extra bit of time when I want to input a picture on my article, I need to put alt text for image manually where earlier the image title automatically added as alt text.
That’s not a that big problem, but yes it consumes some seconds more. WordPress team will solve this problem soon!
My updrades went very smoothly, not to mention quickly. I tried it out on my test blog first before applying it on my live site. Good work, WordPress!
Yeah, It feels great using WordPress 2.9. Mine too upgrades were smooth. It took about 2-3 seconds for update. This is so because I was using WordPress 2.9 Beta version. So not many files had to be changed or updated.
