Login Lockdown

Login LockDown records the IP address and timestamp of every failed WordPress login attempt. If more than a certain number of attempts are detected within a short period of time from the same IP range, then the login function is disabled for all requests from that range. This helps to prevent brute force password discovery. It keeps hackers away. It has many easy to use options. It is a very useful plugin for blogs now a days. I recommend you all to use this plugin. Statpress hasn’t been updated since Feb 2009, and is not compatible with the latest wordpress (2.8)

Wassup and CyStats are good alternatives.

    • I think you are completely wrong. Though it is not updated since Feb 2009 and its site tells it is compatible till WordPress 2.7 it does not specify that it does not work with WordPress 2.8. I can say this with guarantee. I myself use that plugin and it works.

  4. I’m going to try Login Lockdown…sounds like something WP should have by default! :D

    • Wordpress must have had it by default. I think this feature should have been introduced in WordPress 2.9. But it wasn’t. Anyways, we can use Login Lockdown plugin until such feature is introduced.

  5. I am using All In One Seo Pack, Google XML Sitemaps Generator and Login Lockdown. For tracking visitors i am using Wassup.. Which one is better, Wassup or StatPress??
