What To Do Before Selling Ad Spaces In Your Blog / Site?

One cannot get advertisers from the very first day a blog is started. One needs to wait for some time before he starts searching for advertisers for his blog. It’s almost impossible for one to get advertisers on a very new blog with almost no visitors and less website ranks like Pagerank and Alexa rank. So before starting to search for advertisers one needs to ensure that his blog deserves advertisers. One needs to be sure that advertising on his blog is useful. Keep reading to know what exactly to do before selling ad spaces in your blog.

before

1.) How Your Blog Should Be?

Make sure that your blog has a good design and layout. Always make sure you have lots of original content in your blog. Also you should ensure that all of your posts have comments by original readers. Always make the ad spaces you offer in your blog appear differently and visible from all pages of your blog. All the ad spaces you offer in your blog should be easily visible. For example, if someone visits your homepage or suppose sees your posts, the ad spots should appear. The case is different for inline post ads and so. In case you offer inline post advertising, you should make sure that ad appears in the middle of the post or in a part where one can easily see it and advertiser gets benefits.

2.) Make Sure Your Blog Has Good Statistics

No one will like to advertise on a blog with very less visitors and a blog that generates very low pageviews. One won’t advertise on a blog which has a very less number of posts and if it has some posts, they are without any comments. Why do advertisers need comments? Comments show that how many people are actually reading your blog posts and how many of them are your regular visitors. One should ensure that one’s blog has a good number of posts, comments also one’s blog should have a good number of visitors and readers.

3.) Good Ranks Are A Must!

You have a PR-0 blog and you go about searching for advertisers. What do you think will anyone like to advertise on your blog? Well there are some who will advertise on your blog on basis of good visitors if you have any, but almost 90 percent won’t advertise on your blog. So make sure you have a good pagerank. Also make sure that your blog has a good Alexa rank. One won’t advertise on a blog with Alexa rank leading into crores!

4.) After Preparing Your Blog For Selling Ad Spaces, Create A Nice Advertising Page In Your Blog

An advertiser won’t like to contact you for ad spots you offer, ad spots which are available and prices of ad spots as its too time consuming. Rather he will like if all the ad options, their prices and their availability is neatly shown in one page. This will save advertisers time and also if he wishes to buy ad spaces on your blog, will he contact you.

At least 1000. I think one can also have less than this number of pageviews.

That wasn’t a stupid question mate. You can increase your blog pageviews by increasing your article quantity, concentrate a lot on SEO of your blog and its posts.

Having a good ranking is important, but the content has to be relevant to perspective ad clients as well. Sell baby bottles to a hot rod advertiser may not be a perfect sales advantage.
