The Best Text Editor For Webmasters

Text editors are a web developers best friend. They help you edit your site to the core. Whether you have any technical knowledge or you don’t have, text editors always come in your help. They are very useful.

The Windows built in Notepad is not that good with very less facilities. It does not have many options. It is a good option for beginners, but not good for advanced editors.

I know there are hundreds of editors out there but my personal favourite editor is HTML Kit. Its easy to use, has loads of features and best of all it is 100 percent free! That’s the good thing about it.

HTML-Kit is a highly customizable development environment that can be used to create, edit, preview, validate and publish web pages and text files.

Despite its name and the light download size, HTML-Kit is a multi-purpose tool that has support for several scripting and programming languages.

Over 400 free plugins are available for customizing and extending HTML-Kit to fit the way you work. Categories include ASP, CF, C#, iHTML, Java, JavaScript, JSP, Perl, PHP, Python, SQL and more.
So download HTML Kit now and get ready for the best text editor experience.

That’s also a nice tool. I’ve used it after writing this post. I think its good for more professional users. What do you say?

I don’t know about “more professional users”; I use it for all my HTML, CSS, and PHP. It has some really useful features for web development:

I also use it for basic text editing, such as todo lists, etc.

Trying to get into web-site-creating, so far I have been using images mainly, (kept my sites original), it is quite confusing to developpe oneself the tags and the rest of the necessary language while avoiding mistakes. When reading your comments I understand you advise 2 editors, HTML Kit and Ultra Edit, for an amateur in HTML, but a professional graphic designer what would you advise?

best regards
Ferial
