Top 10 Popular Web Hosts

Amongst several web hosts out there, its very difficult to find good quality web hosting providers. There exist more than thousand web hosts and very few of them offer web hosting worth paying for. Here is a list of some popular web hosts.

Well, I haven’t used any metrics or formulas to find out the most popular web hosts, but I used simple polling to determine the popular web hosting services. I asked questions at several Facebook groups, my Facebook profile, asked my friends and asked them to ask the same question to others, gathered data from web hosting review sites, Google Adwords, etc.

In short there are a lot of factors I paid attention to have the perfect list of popular web hosts. They are lined up here in random order of popularity. I hope you enjoy the popular web hosts list!

1. Hostgator – My favorite & a popular web host!

2. BlueHost – Another popular web host!

3. GoDaddy – Most popular in domain registration & to some extent web hosting!

4. FatCow – Fat, yet popular! ;-)

5. BigRock – Gaining popularity with each passing day.

6. InMotion – Thinking of something catchy! ;-)

7. iPage - iPopular!

8. JustHost - Just popular!!

9. WPWebHost - Most popular web host for WordPress hosting.

10. Cool Handle - Cool, it’s popular!

So how was the above list of popular web hosts? I have tried to be a little humorous, I hope you readers don’t mind. If you do, let me know and I will be more professional! ;-)

Which is your favorite popular web host from the above list? Or do you recommend any other web host fitting in this category?

Umm, I haven’t tried One.com, but from it’s reviews I think it’s a good one. :)

iPage is not good for any CMS.Overall other hosting companies are good.

Any reason / reasons for not liking and recommending iPage?

I think iPage is OK, in my opinion and based on the sites I am hosting with them. However, the least favorable feature on iPage is their control panel which is vDeck. I am more familiar with cPanel.

But if you are ok with vDeck, then iPage is a good web host.

Seriously, I think, the world prefers cPanel. And as most web hosts use cPanel, I think iPage needs to use it as well or at least give buyers an option to add it for an extra fee.

I had a really bad experience with JustHost were my databases were corrupted when their drives went down, all my sites were hacked and I had to tell them that database passwords were posted openly on a site hosted on the server, and finally many scripts stopped running and I had to rig up the php.ini file.

So sad Michael! Was the issue finally resolved, what was their reaction to your problem?

Oh! Thank god it is a list of popular web hosts and not of the best webhosts because if it was of best webhost then iPage, Fatcow and Justhost surely do not deserve to be there, they are infact the worst hosts out there. Period!…I wont even try to explain why they are….Don’t worry I am not telling like that because I do not like them…but because I have used them…What a horror :/

Yeah, it’s the list of popular web hosts. ;-)

Is there any reason you don’t like them? Downtime, payment issues?

Host Gator is certainly the most popular, here in Brazil they´re very popular too, even with some good and famous national hosting sites.

Yeah, Hostgator is popular everywhere. They recently entered the Indian market as well. They have a huge advertising budget and even people recommend them because of their good service!

Can’t deny that Hostgator is number one. Their online support system is awesome, they’ll answer any question you have even if it’s really, really dumb (I mean super stupid like why i couldn’t see my wordpress home page… turns out just had to refresh). They even helped me migrate a site off their hosting.

Trev, Yeah! HostGator support is awesome. Sometimes even I ask silly questions, but their operators have a lot of patience and answer gently! HG rocks, agree? :)

All the web hosts you are sharing in your list here are some of the best web hosts around. They are my favorites too. Out of them, my favorites are HostGator and Bluehost, their servers are fast, stable, and their technical support is very helpful too! They get my votes as the best web hosts too.

I recently have partnered with HostUpon to bring a 50% discount deal. To slash the web hosting prices by 50% (that’s half price), you just need to enter the coupon code “100WEB” when you are placing an order.

Guaranteed to work. :)

Do you like HostUpon?

I haven’t tried HostUpon till now. BTW, thanks for the coupon! :)

Deepak,

I use my credit card to pay them. You can even use PayPal, but eventually payment will only be deducted from your credit card.
