This is the last post in the series “Getting Advertisers – A Short And Useful Guide“. In this post we will discuss on keeping advertisers happy. Once you’ve got an advertiser,you shouldn’t forget them. It doesn’t mean once you’ve got paid by the advertiser, you forget them and forget what you’ve promised them.
This means in order to retain the advertiser with you, you have to give them good after sale service. You should always keep them happy.
1.) Give Them What You Promised!
Once the sale is done, don’t forget the advertisers ad. Always make sure that the ad is displayed properly. If the ads are in rotation, all ads are properly and equally viewable. It shouldn’t be like one advertiser is getting larger number of ad views than other. Make sure all the advertisers are benefited equally.
2.) Give Discounts To Advertisers, If They Continue Advertisements For The Next Time Period
If an advertiser renews the ad subscription, do give them discounts. This will not only save their money but will also make them happy. This will help you retain the advertiser for a longer period.
3.) Remind About Ad Renewal
None of the advertisers like to remind the blogger themselves about ad renewals. Also its the bloggers duty to remind the advertisers about their ad, ad expiry date and renewal details. Always remind the advertisers at least a few days before the ad expiry date. I remind advertisers about their ad renewal one week before its going to expire.
4.) Don’t Be Greedy, And Wait For Payment
If an advertiser is advertising on your blog, don’t ask him continuously for money. This can make them unhappy and there is also a chance that they won’t advertise on your blog. So don’t just care for money, also care for the advertisers. This doesn’t mean wait for months for payment! Just ask advertiser for a date till when the payment will be done and after that date has passed by remind the advertiser.

This is a great tips Saksham Talwar. I like tips no 1 and no 2. But can I add more. I usually give 1 month free if the advertiser rent any space in my blog more than 3 month
I, instead of giving one month free, I give them good discounts.

And while you do all this make sure your advertisers is getting enough exposure (banner impressions, click-throughs, sales etc), because that is what makes the advertiser pay for the ads! :)
