Don’t Buy Traffic, It Won’t Convert.

Hi friends! Welcome back to Blogging Junction! Today in this post I will tell you a method to be safe from losing your hard work and money.

In this world especially now-a-days there are many means for a site owner or blogger to get traffic. Many choose advertising as their traffic source and there are many others who believe in commenting in other blogs and sites and get users. And there are some other who have totally different means to get traffic.

Many bloggers buy traffic! Yes they buy traffic! How can one buy traffic? There are a several ways to get traffic or buy traffic. Many bloggers use “PPC” or ”PTC” services. PPC stand for “Pay Per Click” and PTC for “Paid To Click”. These services are totally USELESS! They seem to get you some visitors but do these users really read your blog? No, they DON’T.

These services seem to be an easy and cheap way of marketing your site. They charge very less price for every click or every visitor that you receive. I have seen many sites which pay their users to click on ads. Naturally the ads which are clicked, the site of the ad will get users or visitors. But are these visitors really interested in your site? No they AREN’T. They just click on the ad for money and they are not really interested in knowing what that site is really about.

These service charge very less for you to advertise or in other words are very very cheap. I have seen many such sites which lets you get users for less than $ 0.001 / user. Means they charge you about $ 0.001 per user or per click that you receive. Such sites pay a small portion of the money they get from such advertisers to the ad clickers. This way you can get many users but they are not really interested in your blog. They are just for MONEY!

So avoid using such services and get really benefited. Instead of such services you can use “Google Adwords” or “Adbrite” like services. They may charge a little more for every user you get but these users are targeted and can be loyal readers of your blog.

So SPEND MORE on a thing from which you can BENEFIT and NOT on a thing which is CHEAP but WON’T BENEFIT YOU at all.

That’s it for today! Stick to Blogging Junction for more updates!

  1. Hi your point is really true. lot of persons are buying traffic. totally it is worthless. because they are just coming to your site and went off. they didnt read your blog. so dont buy traffic. really nice tips. it is very useful for bloggers. thanks for this post.

  2. I assume you write about some traffic exchange in which we can buy some credit so other user visit our blog. I already tried it in my other blog, and found that the traffic is really low quality which mean they click purely for the money and do not read my blog content. They leave right after they click it.

  3. Buying traffic is worthy but one should care the way they want it. As you say Adword and Adbrite is better alternative and it is better indeed. I think it better to say buying traffic from cheap PPC and PTC service is worthless but buying from reputed service like Adword, Adbrite is worthy enough.

    • I am not against Adwords or Adbrite. These are two good and reputed services and they show your ads only if one wants to see according to the keywords, etc. I am against using PPC sites that charge you very little amount and thus we use them.

I think a blogger should use every means necessary and available to gain more traffic. But, if quality traffic is the goal then as you said don’t but it or pay your readers to participate. They definitely will not convert.

I am discontinuing the Top Commentator Free Ad spot effect Jan. 2010 as it does not convert and does not foster loyalty or reciprocity. It was a good experiment for this newbie to try and the results were dismal. But, I definitely want to thank you for participating.

    • You’re welcome! Its sad to hear that you are discontinuing the “Free Ad Spot”! But as its not benefiting you, why should you use that. In fact I too was planning to start such a competition and I will do some time later.

  5. in either ways it is not recommended to traffic.. Google may ban u for indulging in such practices..

  6. So true my friend. Quality should always come first. When we blog with quality on every aspects of it, the experience should be fantastic. I believe that’s how successful bloggers dig their way to the top. Don’t you agree?

  7. did you buy the traffic anytime? I did buy once from DP and it was kinda okish..

Thing is we gotta go with premium reputated sellers.. some people make use of fake hit generator (you can google) to give hits on your website whereas others redirect expired domain traffic.. nonetheless they are not targeted but useful for getting indexed :)

    • I have never used such a service but I have used Link Referral which is free. It consumes a lot of time to get the credits and the traffic we get is worthless. I although get some targeted traffic from it by search in their site.

  8. Thanks for sharing them. Also there are free traffic sources like submitting to digg, stumbleupon etc etc.

  9. I never tried getting traffic by paid advertising. Till now i used Social-bookmarking, Microblogging and Social networking websites as traffic source.

You have pointed out very good point and all the blogger should be aware of it.

Thanks for the awesome post and tips :D
