Choose The Appropriate Tone For Your Blog.

This is the sixth part in the series “Tips For Writing A Good Blog Post“. In the previous part of this series I told you the importance of using headlines in your posts. We all discussed on, why headlines are important? Do the headlines really matter, and many more questions were solved. Today I will explain why you should use an appropriate tone for your blog.

Every blog has a target audience for whom it’s written for. what-readers-look-for-in-your-blogIt means that each and every blog has a specific topic and people or visitors related to that topic will visit that blog. Suppose if you have a blogging tips blog, so the people visiting your blog will be the one who seek some blogging help or have some blogging queries. If you have a review blog, the people visiting your blog will be the one who want a review on a specific product or something else. Similarly other blogs of different topics will have different types of visitors.

Before you start writing your blog posts, determine who your primary and secondary audiences will be. You should have a proper knowledge about who your visitors are going to be. Who will want to read your blog and why? Why users should come to your blog and stay there? Is your blog the lone in its topic? Take all these details before you start writing posts for your blog. If you don’t give importance to this, then your posts will go waste and all your hard work will get no fruits.

Ask The Following Questions To Yourself:

What is your blog’s topic?

–> Take a specific topic and stick to the same.

Who will be your visitors?

–> Depending on your blog’s topic, you will get visitors.

What your readers will want?

–> Always make an analysis of what your readers will expect in your blog.

What will they look for your in your blog?

–> Readers always look for something in your blog. If they visit a blog for SEO tips they will want details on a specific tip present in their mind. Try searching their minds and give them what they really want.

Are your readers seeking professional information and discussions or they are in your blog for fun and laughter?

–> Identify not only your goals for your blog but also your audience’s expectations for it. Try giving your audience’s what they really want. In other words find their demands, analyze them and try fulfilling their demands. This doesn’t mean fulfilling monetary demands or else. It means posts on your blog or answers to their questions.

After getting sufficient information about your blog, choose a proper tone for your blog. If you choose a particular tone for your blog, stick to the same. Don’t change your tone in the middle of your blog’s life. Always be consistent with your style. Once you have chosen a style and have implemented it in your blog stick to it. Never change the tone and style of your blog.

Being a Newbie to this whole blogging world my tone is that of a beginner. Although there are several pros and several wanna be pros that visit my blog it is mainly for those just stating out like me. However I do encourage the experts to leave as many comments as possible so that my readers and I can grow from them. :)
