In the last post in Blogging Junction I told you about some of the best ad publishing networks for bloggers to earn an income while blogging. In this post I will tell you about some of the things that are to be saved in your mind before you apply for Google’s Adsense.
Is your blog suitable for Adsense? Before you run to get an Adsense account and sign up for it and dream that you will earn a lot of dollars from it, ask yourself whether
Adsense is good for my blog? Is Adsense only program that I can use for my blog? No way! Adsense is not alone. There are many other available for advertising in your blog. See this post on Blogging Junction to know some advertisement publishing program for your blog.
But there are a few things that need to be kept in mind when you sign up for an Adsense account. Always remember,
Google Does Not Accept Every Site That Applies In The Adsense Program.
The reason is indeed very simple. All the sites are not compatible or don’t follow the Google Adsense policies.
- Google Adsense Program Policies indicate that the content of sites must not contain things like excessive profanity, pornography, illicit drugs etc. Your blog should not pose nude pictures and other non-family friendly content. Basically your blog needs to have content that is reasonably ‘Family Friendly’. It means that it should be able to view by people of all ages. From a small child to an old grown up.
- Your site must not be a hard to find site. It must contain good number of visitors i.e. traffic.
- Your site should house good content. Your posts should be original and of high quality. Your posts should not contain any misspellings. Your posts should not have been copied from other sites. For example if you copy a post from an “XYZ” site and post it in your site and you apply for Adsense you will not be approved by the Adsense team. Adsense needs faithful and honest publishers.
- Your site must be yours. You cannot create an Adsense account for yourself with a site of someone else and then use ads in another blog of yours. If Google happens to find it, you will be removed from the Adsense program immediately and there is a fear that your site will also be removed from other Google services like Webmaster, Search Results and many more. Also Google has now implemented a very new system which tells the Adsense applier to first verify his site for Adsense. Then only his site is considered for further checks in the path of account approval.
- Your site must have a good look. It need not be a premium look. Even a free theme would do. But it should be like in which users find easy to navigate. Navigation is an important factor while applying for Adsense.
- You should be regular in your blog.
Do Not Apply For Adsense If You Blog Once A Week Or Even Less Than It.
This is not all. There is a list of many more things that need to be considered while applying for Adsense. View a list of their program policies.
There is no guarantee at all that you will succeed if you sign up and are approved for Adsense. It all depends on your blog and how you manage it.

I was told by my fellow blogger if google adsense accept his blog even only have one posting and 3 day old. So, how do exactly google adsense accept the blog?
It can’t be true. A 3 day old site with a single post cannot be approved for Adsense. Its not possible atleast now. BJ is month old and filled with good original posts but is yet not approved by Adsense.
If he had created his account earlier in 2003-2007 then maybe its possible. At that time Adsense rules were not that strict. But the present rules are very strict.
You might want to research this a little more Saksham. I applied for Adsense before my site was even online. Granted I have it in place and such now but then it was nothing but a blank page.
It is not possible that you are approved even without a site that’s online. Getting through eyes of Google isn’t very easy. They have a good system to manage their Adsense services. I have also heard that now Adsense verification is done manually by Google Adsense team. They won’t approve a site that’s not even visible to them. Don’t get angry…Sorry to say, but I don’t believe what you say. Please justify your view.
Yah, you may right because when i try use the same way, my blog completely rejected by google adsense.
You should always remember to have a well formed site with easy navigation before you apply for the Adsense program.
I can’t justify it because my site is online now. Why on earth would I be making this up? Whatever. It’s not important.
When have you applied for Adsense …. I mean to ask what have you done to get your Adsense account approved? Today’s Adsense rules are very strict and they check manually every site. If you might have applied earlier maybe in 2007-2008 its possible. At that time checking was automated.
I applied a few years ago and it was automatic when I applied. I used it on an older site I had but it was before the site was online. I suppose that explains it. I don’t really use adsense anymore so I have not kept up with the changes. Sorry for the confusion.
Its Ok.
Hey guys, is it worth to have google adds? I´m thinking about ir and I´m not sure, above all if you don´t have a lot of traffic. I don´t know maybe I´m wrong. What do you think?
Good article Saksham.
David
If you have a site with less traffic I guess you should wait for some time i.e. some months before showing Google Adsense Ads in your site. If you display before you won’t get any clicks and Adsense won’t earn you much. You may although apply and get approved for Adsense before. I recommend you to show Adsense ads only after 3-4 months when your blog is fully established and you have a lot of readers.
When blogging what is the best why to use Adsense?
It pays you more than others.
