5 Tips For A New Blog

As many have started blogging these days I would love to share a few tips for those who are very new in the blogging world. These tips will help them start their blog with a bang and rock from very beginning!

New Blog Tips

So here I begin…

1.) Introduce Yourself And Your Blog

Your first blog post should always be your introduction, your blog’s introduction, etc. In this first post tell the people about your blog topic, topics on which you will write in your blog, your plans for blog’s future, your experience if any, etc. If you own some other blog too, don’t forget to mention it in the introduction post!

2.) Start Commenting On Other Blogs

This is one to get free traffic and it works for new blogs. When Blogging Junction was new I regularly commented on other blogs. Not only did it give me back links, but also free traffic. So start commenting from day one. Read the post titled CommentLuv Enabled Blogs to know some blogs where you can start commenting for getting backlinks and traffic. Also read the post titled Leave Comments On Other Blogs, to know more about blog commenting.

3.) Start Tweeting, Sharing On FaceBook. In Short Social Bookmarking!

Tweeting may help you get a lot of visitors. Also sharing your posts on Stumbleupon, Digg, etc. will help you drive visitors to your blog. Do all this from day one!

4.) Holding A Contest Is A Great Way To Start A New Blog

If you’ve started a new blog, a great way to get new visitors and make them participate in your blog activities is to hold a contest! Holding a contest will bring you many new visitors and will also make them participate in your blog activities like guest posting, commenting, tweeting, etc. So do keep a contest when you start your new blog!

5.) Start Networking With Other Bloggers

A new blog needs promotion, well wishers and supporters. Without any of them a new blog can’t function properly. So start networking with other bloggers from day one. I suggest targeting new bloggers or bloggers who haven’t been in the blogging field for quite long as they might have time to spend for answering your queries and to help you with blogging. (You can network with me)

That doesn’t mean you leave other blogging gurus! Also follow them and ask them for suggestions.

That was it for this post! Get back to you with a new post soon!

Really great advice. I think the only other addition I would add to the list would be guest posting on larger blogs. It can be sad giving up a well written article, but the rewards of networking with another blogger and increasing traffic far outweigh it. Thanks for the great information!

Good tips Saksham.. I’ve really had good success with promoting my blog via commenting, especially on CommentLuv blogs. It can also lead to some good contacts and long term relationships with other bloggers and readers.

Hi Saksham,

I think this is a great post since there are still new bloggers coming everyday and some of other bloggers still don’t know about this thing. Thanks for sharing and very profound tips!

Living in the world of blogging can be a long run but that’s part of making your way through success. It’s also important that if you’re starting a blog, you should always use your real name instead of an alias or nick names because your name will be how people are going to recognize you and just by using your name, you’ll get fame and eventually have many followers.

I too prefer my original name. Nick names aren’t good if you’re there to establish an identity.

Digg and Yahoo Answers are also fantastic ways to get a ton of free traffic.. Assuming you’re providing great value.

In the fat loss and tech niche’s I’ve had a lot of success with that.

If you’re active on related industry forums, signature links can go a long way as well :)
