5 Quick Tips for Writing Better Blog Posts

It’s no secret that blogging takes quite a bit of work. Not only do you have to come up with an original idea, but you also have to research, write, edit, publish, monitor for comments, and more! With such a great investment of time, it’s natural that you would want to get more value out of each and every post. Here are five ways you can squeeze more juice from your blog posts.

1. Use a compelling title

Often, the difference between a well-read and shared blog post is a compelling title. A compelling title draws the eye, communicates benefits, and entices a potential reader to click through. List posts (notice the title of this post?) are a great place to start.

2. Include photos or videos

Rich media content in a blog post is a must. Try to include a photo or a video in every post you make. They will help keep the reader on site longer and give them more of a reason to share.

3. Write shorter posts

Remember – blog posts are not academic papers! Think of them as a conversation starter, or a small piece of sage wisdom. Keep your posts between 300 and 500 words for maximum SEO and social media impact.

4. Write open-ended posts

Want comments on your blog? Keep your posts open-ended. By treating your posts less like factual statements, and more like conversation starters, you’ll encourage others to weigh in with their thoughts and opinions.

5. Break up long paragraphs with lists and bullet points

Here’s a secret to the web – people are lazy! They don’t want to read long posts with lots of dense copy. They want to scan and digest. Make reading your blog posts easy by breaking up your content into short, 1-3 sentence paragraphs, or lists.

you told WordPress mean for commenting I should use Wordpress?

I told you to use Wordpress because it’s easier to do SEO in Wordpress than in Blogger blogs. Use a self-hosted Wordpress platform and you can install various plugins in it. You can install SEO plugins, etc. that will help you increase your blog ranks and traffic.
