Which plugins allow to create WordPress sitemaps? Let me tell you. Read on!
BEST SITEMAP PLUGIN – Google XML Sitemaps
5 Best Sitemap Generating Plugins For WordPress.
1.) Google XML Sitemaps:
This is the most used sitemap generating plugin for WordPress. Almost every other user uses this plugin After all its feature packed! This plugin generates a XML sitemap which is useful for submitting to Google. This sitemap is also compatible with Yahoo, Bing, Ask, Etc. This plugin supports all kinds of WordPress generated pages as well as custom URLs. Additionally it notifies all major search engines every time you create a post about the new content. This is a fully automatic plugin. It also offers features to set priority for posts, pages, main page, etc. I use this plugin and its really helpful
2.) Karailiev’s Sitemap
This plugin adds a XML sitemap and a news sitemap to your blog. It’s used to send all your pages and posts to the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. It offers custom priority for every page or post. We can also exclude certain pages or posts from the sitemap. We can also include attachments in sitemap. This ensures that your attachments too are indexed by the search engines. Using this plugin we can also decide the change frequency of posts, pages, categories and tags.
3.) Dagon Design Sitemap Generator
This is yet another plugin which creates a sitemap for your WordPress powered site. This is not just another XML sitemap plugin, but rather a true sitemap generator. It has its own options panel and the sitemap is highly customizable with the options that are provided. It supports multi-level categories and pages, category/page exclusion, multiple-page generation with navigation, permalink support, choose what to display, what order to list items in, show comment counts and/or post dates, and much more. This unlike the first two plugins doesn’t generate a XML sitemap, but instead generates a sitemap like a page with no .XML extension.
4.) XML Sitemaps
This plugin for will automatically generate XML Sitemaps for your WordPress site and let know search engines when the sitemaps are updated. Contrary to other plugins that generate sitemap files, this one will add a rewrite rule. This will store your cached sitemaps in the wp-content/sitemaps folder. It has no options panel and the reason the plugin author provides is that, because the plugin options are set automatically, there isn’t any need for an options panel. Actually I feel, if an options panel had been provided, it might have been really good. This plugin automatically assigns the rate of updates and the weight based on statistics collected on your site. Pings occur automatically, on an hourly basis, if the sitemap file is updated. I like this feature!
This doesn’t generate a normal sitemap, but it creates sitemap for inclusion in Google News. This plugin automatically generates a sitemap for inclusion in Google News. Its a must use plugin for blogs / sites that share news articles. Otherwise using this plugin has no sense according to me.
That’s the end of the list! Feel free to tell me any more plugins if you know any. Please share those in the comments.

I’ve used “Dagon Design Sitemap Generator” — it appears to be old now… cannot even seem to find it if you do a search directly from your Plugins dashboard… but I can find it by Googling– here is their website: http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/sitemap-generator-plugin-for-wordpress/
